ITEM # 6. of ~~~ ~~ tver MEMORANDUM TO: Housing & Redevelopment Authority FROM: Heidi Steinmetz, Assistant Director of Economic Development~~ DATE: March 7, 2005 SUBJECT: Update on Two Properties for Sale on Main Street Attachment • Site Location/Zoning Map Background In August of 2004, the HRA indicated an interest in three properties that were for sale on Main Street downtown north of Hwy 10. The attached zoning map indicates the location of the properties. Staff provided property details to the HRA in September of 2004 however the HRA delayed further action since the property located in between the three properties (426 Main Street) was not for sale at the time. The HRA directed staff to continue to monitor the situation and provide updates to the HRA. Update The properties located at 414 and 420 Main Street are still for sale with similar listing prices to last Fall (414 is listed at $174,900 and 420 is listed at $210,000). The status of the property located at 426 Main Street is tentatively unknown due to the passing of the previous owner. In early Fall of 2004, the property located on the corner of Main Street and Gates Avenue (430 Main Street) was sold and is currently being remodeled into office space. Staff has not received any inquiries on the properties for redevelopment opportunities since last Fall, however, since the properties are located within the Study Area Boundary defined by the HRA at its June 30, 2004 Work Session, staff will continue to provide updates to the HRA regarding this activity and other opportunities in the area downtown north of Hwy 10.
