Elk River Library Board Minutes
~ May 17,1994
Members:
Vicki Sullivan present
John Dietz present
Mary Keifenheim present
Murray McNair present
Marsha O'Brien absent
Also present:
Mick Stoffers
Verne Oleksowicz
Meeting was called to order at 6:30 by Chair Vicki Sullivan. Minutes were approved
from the April 19,1994 meeting.
Bills for May were reviewed and approved.
Mick reported that she and Vicki met with the contractor. Construction will begin as
soon as the contractor receives a building permit. They will meet on a weekly basis
every Friday at 9:00 am. A window was broken in the community room. Mick called the
city office. The display case needs a new ballast for the light. The flag pole is still
broken. A door in a restroom is broken, but Mick will wait for the remodeling to
replace.
After discussion, the library will lend the laminator to City Hall. The laminator will still
be available for use by the library staff as needed.
It was requested that the agenda have more information on the items to be discussed.
John asked about the fence on the library property. It is broken in some places and
needs new poles in some places. There are no plans to replace the fence at this time
but it will be looked into.
It was decided that there was no need for a formal ground breaking ceremony. The
Star News has been contacted about a picture of the construction. They will wait until
there is equipment on the site. Board members are on call for the picture. The board
will have a formal event at the opening of the addition.
Verne reviewed the Sherburne County meeting with GRRL. The County agreed to the
new funding formula with stipulations. Verne thanked the library board for their
support.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
./~
