REQUEST FOR ACTION
To Item Number
Ci Council 6.6.
Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by
Communi Develo ment Februa 17, 2009 erem Barnhart, Plannin Mana er
Item Description Reviewed by
Request by Jeff Werner for Extension of Preliminary Plat
Approval for Cranberry Ridge, Case No. 06-15 Reviewed by
Action Requested
Extension of the preliminary plat of Cranberry Ridge.
Background/Discussion
The Cranberry Ridge preliminary plat (16 residential lots) was approved on February 20, 2007. A one
year extension was approved in November of that year. That extension expired on November 5, 2008.
On January 29, staff received an email from Mr. Werner requesting an extension, indicating that the
extension is necessary due to market conditions.
The ordinance, Section 30-374, states that a preliminary plat will become null and void should the
applicant fail to submit a final plat or an extension be granted by the City Council within one year.
The Council policy suggests that extensions to projects not acted on would be limited to one year; for this
project that year has expired.
It is desirable to limit extensions to ensure that projects approved much earlier remain consistent with
Council goals and land use policies.
Financial ImRact
None
Attachments
• Email correspondence from Jeff Werner
• Location Map
Action Motion by Second by Vote
Follow Up
S:\PLANNING MAIN\Case Files\Plat\P 06-15 Cranberry Ridge\Cranberry Ridge extension 2009.doc
