t~ver
13065 Orono Parkway
Clk River, MN 55330
December27, 2007
Elk River Municipal Utilities
Attn: Bryan Adams
Dear . s,
',
Ef~~-RGYCITY
APRIL19, 2008
`~
In honor of the 10 year anniversary of our designation as "Energy City", in 2007 Elk River hosted the first Energy Expo.
The 2007 Energy Expo, held at the Gold LEED certified Twin Lakes Elementary School, was a very successful event
drawing over 700 people who visited exhibits, watched presentations and performances for adults and children, and
enjoyed a keynote speech by Paul Douglas of WCCO TV.
We are excited to announce that our 2008 Energy Expo is being held April 19, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the
Elk River City Hall campus, and will highlight our beautiful library which is Elk River's newest Energy City
demonstration site. This year's event will feature two separate competitions from children from the Spectrum Charter
School. Eleventh graders will present their entries in the "Energy Inventions" contest, and ninth and tenth graders will
show us the short films they've produced about "Saving Energy and Resources." Exhibits on energy saving products and
services, and performances for children by Tricia and the Toonies and CLIMB Theater will also be part of the fun.
On behalf of the City of Elk River, I am writing to request a donation from your company or organization to help
sponsor this event. Monetary donations to cover expenses, and/or merchandise donations for door prizes are very
welcome. The Energy City Commission of Elk River, the City, and Sherburne County are all sponsors for this exciting
event.
The City will begin advertising the 2008 event soon and would very much like to list your company as a sponsor.
There are several levels of sponsorship available, or you can choose your own donation amount as well. Donations are tax
deductible! See the sponsorship form for sponsorship levels and the benefits for each.
If you have questions concerning the 2008 Energy Expo, please call Nicki Blake-Bradley at Elk River City Hall, (763)
635-1073.
We hope to be hearing from you soon!
Si cerely,
~~~ r
Steph ie Klinzing
Mayor, City of Elk River
P.S.
