ver <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Energy City Commissioners <br />FROM: Rebecca Haug, Environmental Administrator <br />DATE: June 20, 2007 <br />SUBJECT: Draft 3-year Plan <br />In January 2007, Commissioners Rohlf and Stoutenburg along with city staff, developed goals <br />and tasks for the Energy City Commission. To help us achieve those goals, I felt that we should <br />put some timelines with them. I've also added a few more goals we should strive for. This is <br />draft and I would recommend that the subcommittee be reinstated to further work on this. <br />2008 <br />• 2nd Energy Expo -focus on residents and students <br />• Market to prospective businesses about Energy City <br />• Develop grant or loan program to offer new and existing businesses <br />• Work with City's Fleet Management Team on purchasing alternative fuel vehicles <br />• Continue pursuing Gubernatorial Proclamation declaring Elk River as Energy City <br />• Work with Elk River School District for participation in Energy Expos <br />• Develop Partnerships with other groups <br />• Encourage industrial, commercial and institutional buildings to be LEED certified and/or green <br />buildings <br />2009 <br />• 3'~ Energy Expo -focus on residents and students <br />• Energy House IV (based on housing study) <br />• Hire Energy City Coordinator <br />• Market to prospective businesses about Energy City <br />• Implement grant or loan program <br />• Encourage industrial, commercial and institutional buildings to be LEED certified and/or green <br />buildings <br />2010 <br />• 4`f' Energy Expo -focus businesses <br />• Market to prospective businesses about Energy City <br />• Continue implementing grant or loan program <br />• Encourage industrial, commercial and institutional buildings to be LEED certified and7or green <br />buildings <br />
