fiver <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Energy City Commission <br />FROM: Rebecca Haug, Environmental Administrator <br />DATE: December 19, 2007 <br />SUBJECT: April 19, 2008 Energy Expo Update <br />The Subcommittee met on December I I . The caterer has put together their menu and <br />the following will be served: <br />Brats, hot dogs, sloppy Joes, popcorn, cheese curds, bars, candy, chips, coffee, juice, pop <br />and bottled water <br />Staff is still looking at who will be providing the biodegradable and compostable food <br />service items. <br />Sherburne County has budgeted $I 1,600 for bussing, the children's performances, <br />advertising, and biodegradable and compostable food service items. A tentative budget is <br />attached. <br />Spectrum Charter School will have the kick-off for the Energy Enny's and Energy <br />Innovation Contest towards the end of January. Chair Zehringer suggested having the <br />students tour the Environmental Learning Center and the power plant. School staff is <br />still working on determining a dollar amount for both projects. <br />Elk River Municipal Utilities will be putting information about the Expo in the <br />January/February bill. Commissioner Burandt is going to check on the possibility of <br />putting something in the Connexus bill and Chair Zehringer is going to check with <br />Wright-Hennepin about a bill stuffer and possibly being a sponsor and exhibitor. <br />So far, there are three exhibitors signed up. They are ECONAR, the Sierra Club and <br />Ultimate Exteriors. Mayor Klinzing is in the process of signing all the letters to the <br />possible donators and staff will be mailing those out ASAP. <br />The next subcommittee meeting will be on Tuesday, January 8 at 9:00 a.m. in the <br />Uppertown Conference Room at the Elk River City Hall. <br />
