~.ver <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Heritage Preservation Commission <br />FROM: Stephen Rohlf, Building and Environmental Administrator <br />DATE: August 11, 2005 <br />SUBJECT: Items on the August 23, 2005 Planning Commission Agenda <br />A map showing the locations of the requests on the August 23, 2005 Planning <br />Commission agenda is attached to this memo. The City's recent Archaeological <br />Modeling and the State Historical Society Office's (SHPO) list of known archaeological <br />sites were referenced in regards to the items on the Planning Commission's Agenda. The <br />following is a summary of the agenda items and their potential to conflict with any <br />known or potential cultural, historical or archaeological resources: <br />5.1 -Conditional Use Permit for AMT to construct a 24,000 sq. ft. retail facility - (CU <br />05-15) -Although there are no known SHPO sites on the affected property, the city's <br />archaeological model shows the area as high to very high potential for archaeological <br />site. -Staff recommends the standard condition listed below is placed on this <br />request. <br />5.2 -Preliminary Plat -Singer Addition - (P OS-15) - No known sites and the <br />archaeological model shows low to moderate potential, but due to the grading involved - <br />Staff recommends the standard condition listed below is placed on this request. <br />5.3,5.4,5.5 & 5.6 -All deal with a proposed Target Technology Center - (CU 05-16 & P <br />05-14) -Although there are no known SHPO sites on the affected property, the city's <br />archaeological model shows the area as high to very high potential for archaeological <br />site. -Staff recommends the standard condition listed below is placed on this <br />request. <br />5.7, 5.8, 5.9 & 5.10 -All deal with New Century Land Development's plat called <br />Heritage Maples - (CU OS-17, P OS-16, ZC OS-03 & LU OS-OS). There are no known <br />SHPO sites on the affected property, but the city's archaeological model shows the area <br />as high potential for archaeological site. -Staff recommends the standard condition <br />listed below is placed on this request. <br />
