ITEM # 3.8. <br />c <br />fiver <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Economic Development Authority <br />FROM: Catherine Mehelich, Director of Economic Development <br />DATE: January 12, 2009 <br />SUBJECT: Consider Commissioner Appointments/Assignments <br />The EDA currently maintains the following committees which meet on an as needed basis: <br />Finance Committee <br />Nate Ovall (The Bank of Elk River representative) <br />Cliff Lundberg (Business representative) <br />Chris Carlson (Business representative) <br />David Rymanowski (First National Bank of Elk River representative) <br />Larry Toth (HRA representative) <br />Dan Tviete (EDA representative) <br />Paul Motin (EDA representative) <br />Industrial Marketing Committee <br />Jim Barthel (Manufacturing representative) <br />Chris Carlson (Manufacturing representative) <br />Gary Santwire (Developer representative) <br />Mark Urista (Business representative) <br />To Be Determined (Local banking representative) <br />Jerry Gumphrey (City Council representative) <br />Dan Tveite (EDA representative) <br />The Finance Committee is utilized for review and recommendation of the Economic Development <br />Micro Loan requests to the EDA. The Industrial Marketing Committee is utilized for review and <br />recommendation of the Strategic Industrial Marketing Plan and other industrial marketing efforts. <br />In addition, the following EDA Commissioners serves as EDA representative on other city <br />committees: <br />• Downtown Redevelopment Taskforce -EDA Commissioner Tviete <br />• Energy City Commission -EDA Commissioner Ron Touchette <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the EDA consider appointing EDA Commissioners to the above <br />committees for 2009. <br />
