Coordinator <br />DATE: February 7, 2008 <br />SUBJECT: Staff Report <br />Hot Topic(s) of the Month <br />We are full swing into summer programming. We are excited to bring back many of our <br />favorites as well as looking to add some new opportunities. We will be adding <br />neighborhood playground programs, more youth opportunities, and looking for ways to <br />serve our growing teen population at Lions Park. We are also working with the YMCA, <br />Boys and Girls Club and Community Education to put on a new event to kick off summer <br />called Youth Expo. <br />anuary Programs <br />Open gyms, Girl Power, Parent and Tot Tumbling, Preschool Tumbling, Parent and Tot <br />Open Playtime, Eager Elks Soccer, Preschool classes at Trott Brook Barn, BLAST, Parent's <br />Night Out, Youth Bead Day, Art camps, warming house, Skate Races, Boot Hockey, Rink <br />Rat Hockey, beginning archery, scrap booking retreat, adult fitness classes, and Skating <br />Academy. <br />Special Marketing Efforts <br />Spring Program Guide has been mailed out and registration is underway. Staff was able to <br />put our web site link regarding Open Gyms on the Youth Basketball website; we have <br />already seen an increase in attendance. Staff started advertising and taking registrations for <br />the 11 `'' Annual Ice Show. <br />Facili , Use <br />We reserved 174 hours of facility use in January. 122 hours was indoor facility use, 32 hours <br />was hockey rinks, and the remaining 20 hours was for miscellaneous park and trail use. <br />
