At that meeting,
it was the general consensus of the City Council that the best option was to go with the Connexus
Energy proposal where they would build the system and own and maintain it. The City's
participation would be the capital cost for construction of the system and then a monthly
maintenance fee, depending upon the poles and light fixtures chosen.
The City Council asked for a further discussion with Connexus Energy relative to the options
available for more decorative style of lighting. Leo Offerman of Connexus Energy will be in
attendance at the meeting and will be prepared to discuss the various options far decorative
lighting.
Financial Impact
The 2008 CIP has $100,000 programmed for the replacement of the lighting along TH 10. The
basic option presented by Connexus Energy can be constructed within this budget amount.
Decorative styles of lighting would require additional funding above the $100,000 amount.
Attachments
• July 7, 2008 City Council packet information
Action Motion by Second by Vote
Follow Up
C:\Docuxnents and Settings\jmiller\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK3E\TH 10 lighting.doc
