ITEM # 6.
of
mover
MEMORANDUM
TO: Housing and Redevelopment Autho ity
FROM: Annie D cke a ent Assistant
DATE: July 7, 2008
SUBJECT: Housing Partnership Opportunities- Residential Rehab Programs
Background
At the April 7, 2008 joint meeting of the HRA and City Council, the HRA and Council
indicated interest in exploring several existing and potential housing partnership
opportunities. Staff has compiled and attached a comprehensive list of what's available to
residents for rehabilitation and as well as other related energy efficiency programs offered by
Elk River Municipal Utilities (ERMU).
Discussion Points
Staff would like the HRA to discuss and provide direction pertaining to these programs and
to identify any (if any) gap in resources available.
• Are the programs presently available to Elk River residents addressing housing
rehabilitation needs in the community? If not, why?
• Are residents utilizing the resources available? Why/why not?
• Is there a gap in resources available to residents to rehabilitate homes?
• Are there particular neighborhoods (based on the age of the home) that the City
may wish to encourage to utilize housing rehab programs? If so, where?
• What role does the HRA wish to play?
Based on the HRA's discussion and direction, staff will gather additional information for the
HRA's consideration at a future meeting.
