The Mayor and City Council are strongly
committed to continuing an economic development program and would like to
receive input from the people that are most directly affected by these
economic development programs and efforts.

The city, chamber, and business leaders all have a wide range of economic
development goals for Elk River. At this time, the city needs to receive some
feedback on what the priorities are for the community. The Mayor and
Council are looking forward to a discussion on how the city should apply its
financial resources towards economic development and the city is open to
exploring all options and any combination of approaches to enhance our
economic development activities and efforts. The City Council would like to
hear from leaders in the community on what is believed to have worked well
in our economic development program and in what areas we should be
working on that are now high priorities.

The City Council is planning to advertise and hire a new employee to manage
the city's economic development program. The Mayor has indicated that one
of his goals for this meeting is to receive input on what the job description
should be for the city's economic development staff member. The Mayor
wants to make sure that the job description responds to and reflects the
identified needs and desires of the community.
