RESOLUTION 00- P, 3 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION INDICATING CITY SUPPORT <br /> FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A <br />TEMPORARY SIGNAL SYSTEM AT THE INTERSECTION <br />OF TRUNK HIGHWAY 169 AND COUNTY ROAD 33 <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />MnDOT has done a Signal Warrant Study at the intersection of TH 169 <br />and County Road 33, the results of which indicate a signal is warranted; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />MnDOT has recently been allocated funding for the installation of an <br />interchange at this same intersection to be let in 2003 with construction <br />anticipated to take two seasons after the letting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />a temporary signal system would provide for a safer intersection until <br />such time as the interchange project is let, and would provide for better <br />operation of the intersection during the construction of the interchange. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River, <br />Minnesota: <br /> <br />The City Council strongly recommends to the Sherburne County Board of <br />Commissioners that the temporary signal system for the intersection of TH 169 <br />and County Road 33 move forward as quickly as possible with installation of said <br />signal system as early as permitted in the spring of 2001. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 25th day of September 2000. <br /> <br />Stepha'~ie A.
