The request is <br />specifically being made to approve polling places for the city's new precinct plan which calls <br />for eight polling places, one per precinct. <br /> <br />State Law requires the Council to designate polling places by Resolution. State law also <br />requires polling places to be located within the boundaries of the precinct or within 3,000 <br />feet of one of those boundaries. <br /> <br />Staff is proposing the following locations for polling places. The polling locations are <br />referenced on the attached map. <br /> <br />Precinct <br />Precinct <br />Precinct <br />Precinct <br />Precinct <br />Precinct <br /> <br />lA - City Hall - 13065 Orono Parkway - Population 2,072 <br />lB - United Methodist Church - 1304 Main Street - Population 1,850 <br />2A - River of Life Church - 21695 Elk Lake Road - Population 1,372 <br />2B - Meadowvale School - 12701 Elk Lake Road - Population 2,358 <br />3A - Ivan Sand School - 1232 School Street - Population 2,391 <br />3B - Lion's Park Center - 1104 Lion's Park Drive - Population 2,563 <br /> <br />Precinct 4A - Lincoln School - 600 School Street - Population 1,851 <br />*Precinct 4B - St. Andrew Church - 566 4t~ Street - Population 1,990 <br />(Other option for 4B) - Guardian Angels Senior Center - 350 Evans <br /> <br />St. Andrew's Church is located just outside of the Precinct 4B boundary line. Guardian <br />Angels Senior Center is located in the boundary line of Precinct 4B. Both locations would <br />work for a polling place. The one drawback of the Senior Center is parking. The parking lot <br />is insufficient to handle the number of voters. Voters could however, park on the street. St. <br />Andrew's Church has sufficient parking in the parking lot. Voting would take place in the <br /> <br /> <br />
