West, Fire Chief <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Authorization to Purchase Outdoor Warning Siren Lori ohnson, Ci Administrator <br /> Reviewed by <br /> Tim Simon, Finance Director <br />Action Requested <br />Mayor and City Council approval for the purchase of one (1) mode12001-130 DC Battery unit outdoor <br />warning siren in the amount of $12,257.21 to be placed at Mississippi Road and Rawlins Street NW. <br />Background/Discussion <br />The newly purchased outdoor warning siren will replace an old three-phase Thunderbeam siren, which is <br />over 20 years old. There will be one additional Outdoor Warning siren to be replaced under the capital <br />improvement plan in 2009 at 181" and Fillmore Street NW. <br />Enclosed is a quotation from Federal Signal Corporation for a model 2001-130 DC Battery Unit outdoor <br />warning siren and all the accessories needed for a total of $12,257.21. This total includes sales tax and <br />shipping. <br />Once again, the Elk River Municipal Utilities will be assisting in the replacement project at Mississippi <br />Road and Rawlins Street NW and I would like to thank Line Superintendent Glenn Sundeen and his staff <br />for the assistance with the outdoor warning sirens.
