RESOLUTION 99-_27 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION IDENTIFYING THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br />AS A TEST CITY FOR MOTION-ACTIVATED CAMERAS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Elk River Police Chief and City Council is requesting that the City <br />of Elk River be identified as a test city for motion-activated cameras, <br />more commonly known as "photo cops"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River would be a good candidate as a test city for the <br /> motion activated cameras for the following reasons: <br /> <br />Elk River is an outer ring suburb of the NW metro area <br /> <br />Elk River is one of the fastest growing cities in the state of <br />Minnesota <br /> <br />There are numerous gravel mining operations along Highway 169 <br />which create a significant amount of semi-truck traffic running <br />through numerous semaphores causing danger to pedestrians and <br />motorists <br /> <br />· Numerous school buses cross Highway 169 daffy <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk <br /> River, Minnesota, that the City of Elk River become a test city for <br /> motion-activated cameras <br /> <br />Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 5th day of <br />April, 1999. <br /> <br />Step~n~ie' A.
