<br />Library Board Minutes <br />May 22, 2007 <br /> <br />Mick Stoffers, Karen Stelk, Ann Schroeder, John Dietz, Mike Hangaard, Joan Allen <br />from GRRL and Bill Maertz from the City were in attendance. <br /> <br />We toured the new library first, and then started the meeting at 6:50pm. <br /> <br />No definite timeframe for moving yet and we also need specifics from the moving <br />company as to what exactly they will do. Both issues are time sensitive and Bill is to <br />obtain the information and give to Mick. <br /> <br />Grand Opening: <br />Mick contacted various Authors and there is one in particular that would fit well. <br />Will Weaver is from Brainerd and there is a movie coming out 'Sweetland" based on <br />one of his books. Bill is going to look into showing that movie through the city this <br />summer prior to Grand Opening. Heidi Hucks, President of the Library Association <br />will be attending the Grand Opening. Talked about having the MN Zoo come, so we <br />have something for everyone. Possible giveaways are magnets with hours, phone #, <br />etc. It was mentioned maybe Bill Hudson would be available to MC the event. A <br />tentative date for Grand Opening was discussed as being the 2nd weekend of Oct. <br /> <br />Joan said GRRL will approve the budget in July for additional open hours of <br />operation. <br /> <br />A motion and second was made to adopt the agenda, treasurer's report and April <br />minutes. <br /> <br />Meeting was adjourned at 7:15pm, next meeting 6/26 at the Library. <br />
