<br /> <br />ITEM <br /> <br />9.3. <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Tina Allard, City Clerk <br /> <br />DATE: April 16,2007 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Webstreaming Marketing Proposal <br /> <br />A company known as CGI Communications, Inc. is interested in providing four videos <br />(approximately 1 minute in length) for the city at no cost or liability that can be played over <br />the city's website. Some cities in Minnesota that have utilized this product are Burnsville and <br />Moorhead with Albert Lea and Hibbing coming online soon. <br /> <br />CGI is proposing to do one welcome video and three additional highlight videos to highlight <br />various aspects of the city. Examples would include economic development or parks and <br />recreation amenities. <br /> <br />CGl will handle all aspects of the production from script writing to editing. They store and <br />stream the videos from a dedicated server. The city is given a link to use on its website. <br /> <br />How is the cost of the videos covered 1 <br />CGI markets and promotes the video to local businesses. Local businesses are allowed on <br />the perimeter of the video panels with a video link provided to highlight their business. <br /> <br />Staff is looking for direction from the Council on whether there is an interest in pursuing <br />this type of venture. <br />
