ACH, CITY PLANNER~ <br />FEBRUARY 28, 1994 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: UPDATE ON CHAMBER OF <br />COMMERCE BUILDING PLANS <br />AT UPA DRIVE ON HIGHWAY 10 <br /> <br />OVERVIEW <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The Chamber of Commerce has met with City staff twice over the past few <br />months to discuss their interest in establishing their office at the corner of <br />Highway 10 and UPA Drive (former Creamery site). The site is presently <br />vacant however, the Chamber is planning on moving in a residential home <br />(currently used by Dennis Chuba) for their office space and also serve as a <br />center for community information. <br /> <br />Furthermore, its envisioned landscaping and parking lot improvements <br />would be made to the site which would also enhance the entrance to the <br />downtown area. These parking lot improvements may be coordinated with <br />the Minnesota Department of Transportation as part of establishing an <br />official park and ride facility. <br /> <br />Some of the issues still being discussed before finalizing the Chamber's plans <br />include the following: <br /> <br />. Terms of a lease agreement between the City and the Chamber for use of <br />City property. <br /> <br />. Coordination of parking improvements with Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation's Park and Ride Facility. <br /> <br />. City accepting the building from Dennis Chuba as a donation and then <br />transferring to the Chambel <br /> <br />. Cooperative maintenance agreement for snow removal and yard <br />maintenance. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. Site improvements/building appearance/landscaping improvements. <br /> <br />P.O.
