CU 93-40 <br /> <br />ISSUE <br /> <br />Steve LaTour is requesting a conditional use permit to encroach <br />on the 300 foot setback for a metal skin building. <br /> <br />LOCATION <br /> <br />11063-207 Avenue NW, Elk River, MN <br />Range 26, Sherburne County, MN). <br />is available at City Hall. <br /> <br />(Section 14, Township 33, <br />A complete legal description <br /> <br />ANALYSIS <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Steve LaTour is requesting a conditional use permit to <br />construct an agricultural metal skin building located 200 feet <br />from a neighboring home. The proposed structure will measure <br />32 X 24 feet (768 square feet). Metal skin buildings are <br />required to meet a 300 ft. setback from any neighboring <br />dwelling. The rear of Mr. LaTour's property is heavily wooded, <br />therefore, will act as a buffer from the neighboring home. Mr. <br />LaTour has indicated that this structure will be used as a <br />shelter for his two horses. The memo to the Planning <br />Commission explaining the request in detail is attached. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> <br />At the December 28, 1993, Planning Commission meeting, one <br />resident did attend the meeting, however, was not opposed to <br />the project. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the <br />conditional use permit for Steve LaTour with the following <br />conditions: <br /> <br />1. THE COLOR OF THE BUILDING BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE <br />COLOR OF THE EXISTING HOME. <br /> <br />2.
