<br /> <br />ITEM 5.5. <br /> <br />TO: MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />FROM: PAT KLAERS, CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br /> <br />DATE: MARCH 17, 1993 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF CITY WATER TOWER SITE <br />AND SELLING OF CITY PROPERTY <br />(NORTH OF MNDOT GARAGE) <br /> <br />At the last City Council meeting I was directed to continue to <br />negotiate with Mr. Rick Foster regarding the purchase of land <br />for a water tower site and in an effort to sell the City <br />property along Highway 169 north of the MnDOT garage. All <br />Councilmembers are encouraged to visit the City site in order <br />to get a feel as to the development restrictions that exist. <br /> <br />I have met with Mr. Foster on 3/17/93 and will be prepared to <br />provide the Council with a verbal update on our discussion. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Council should note that Mr. Foster is presenting a <br />preliminary plat to the Planning Commission on 3/23 and this <br />plat includes the City property. Mr. Foster can develop his <br />land north of the City property independent of purchasing the <br />City land and, if ~o sale goes through, this is what he will be <br />forced to undertake. Sale of City property to Mr. Foster would <br />be contingent upon plat approval. The proposal from Mr. Foster <br />includes two long cul-de-sacs and this may become an issue. <br />After the 3/23 Planning Commission meeting, we will have a <br />better understanding as to if the development proposal from Mr. <br />Foster is acceptable. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />720 Dodge Avenue N.W., Elk River, Minnesota 55330 (612) 441-7420 <br />
