Call Worksession To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the worksession of the Elk River Economic <br />Development Authority was called to order at 4 p.m. by President Dwyer. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Consider Aaenda <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The agenda was accepted as presented. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Business Incubator Proiect Overview <br /> <br />Paul Steinman explained that the purpose of the meeting is to provide an <br />overview of the Business Incubator project. He noted that the incubator project is <br />two years old, and stated that it is an appropriate time to review the project with <br />the EDA. Paul Steinman gave a brief overview of how the incubator started, and <br />how it has evolved over the last two years. He noted that there are currently four <br />companies in the incubator facility. <br /> <br />Harlan Jacobs introduced the four incubator companies. The following incubator <br />companies gave a brief presentation regarding their business: Protector, Inc., <br />Solar Attic, Inc., Watermark, L.L.C., and MAS Technologies, Inc. <br /> <br />Following the presentations, discussion pursued regarding whether the EDA should <br />continue with the incubator project and whether leases should be extended <br />beyond the two year incubation period. Paul Steinman recommended that a <br />decision be made by the EDA within the next six months as to whether or not the <br />incubator project should continue for an additional 2 years beyond 4/15/01. <br />Discussion was held regarding the length of the incubation period. The EDA <br />indicated that it was in favor of the concept of the incubator project however, <br />there were concerns regarding the incubation time period. It was the consensus <br />of the EDA to discuss these issues further at a future EDA meeting. <br /> <br />e <br />
