<br />e <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br />MONDAY, OCTOBER 26, 1998 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />President Duitsman, Commissioners Dwyer, Farber, Thompson, <br />Holmgren, Bender, and Gongoll <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br /> <br />Paul Steinman, Executive Director; Sandra Peine, City Clerk <br /> <br />1. Call Meetina To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof. the special meeting of the Elk River <br />Economic Development Authority was called to order at 5 p.m. by President <br />Duitsman. <br /> <br />2. Consider Aqenda <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER GONGOLL MOVED TO APPROVE THE 10/26/98 ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AGENDA. COMMISSIONER DWYER SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Public Hearina - Sale of EDA-owned Industrial Land <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Executive Director Paul Steinman indicated that the purpose of the special EDA <br />meeting is to hold a public hearing to allow citizen input on the sale of the EDA- <br />owned industrial lot in the Elk River Industrial Park. He stated that the sale of the <br />lot is to Supermats, Inc. for the purpose of completing construction of a 35-40,000 <br />square foot manufacturing facility. <br /> <br />President Duitsman opened the public hearing. There being no one for or against <br />the matter, President Duitsman closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER FARBER MOVED THAT THE SALE OF LOT 2, BLOCK 2, ELK RIVER <br />INDUSTRIAL PARK IS ADVISABLE AND APPROPRIATE AND IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE <br />CITY AND THAT THE TRANSACTION FURTHERS THE AUTHORITY'S GENERAL PLAN OF <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER. COMMISSIONER BENDER <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />4. Adiournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, COMMISSIONER FARBER MOVED TO ADJOURN THE <br />MEETING. COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION.
