Call Meetina To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Economic <br />Development Authority was called to order at 6:07 p.m. by President Gongol\. <br /> <br />2. Consider Aaenda <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DWYER MOVED TO APPROVE THE AUGUST 12,1996, EDA AGENDA. <br />COMMISSIONER BENDER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consent Aaenda <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER SCHEEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />3.1 JULY 8,1996, EDA MINUTES - APPROVED <br />3.2 CHECK REGISTER - APPROVED <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DUITSMAN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />4. Open Mike <br /> <br />President Gongoll congratulated Steve Rohlf and Paul Steinman on Elk River's <br />selection as the Sustainable City Energy Showcase site. <br /> <br />5. Discussion: Sianaae Funding Reauest - Mum Beck <br /> <br />Mum Beck, president of the River's Edge Downtown Development Corporation <br />and Marly Glines. River's Edge Committee member, requested 1/3 funding for <br />the cost of two historic downtown Elk River signs. There is a total of three signs. <br />The City Council has approved the cost of one sign and the River's Edge <br />Downtown Development Corporation will assume the remainder of the cost and <br />installation. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER FARBER MOVED TO APPROVE 1/3 OF THE FUNDING FOR THE <br />HISTORIC DOWNTOWN ELK RIVER SIGNS. COMMISSIONER SCHEEL SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5.2. Commissioner Duitsman and Bender <br />denied the motion. <br />
