<br /> <br />City of Elk River <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date <br />Consent Ma 15,2006 <br />Item Description <br />Consider Annual Li uor License Renewals <br /> <br />Item Number <br />3.7.* <br /> <br />Prepared by <br />oan Schmidt, Ci Clerk <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br />Introduction <br />Renewal of liquor licenses for 2006-2007 licensing year. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />Liquor licenses run from July 1 through June 30 with the exception of the 2 A.M. license. The 2 A.M. <br />license runs for one-year concurrent at the time of application and is handled by the State. All of the <br />establishments except LaRose's have submitted the appropriate documentation and licensing fees. (per <br />our Ordinance Section 6-70: Applications for renewal of all licenses under this division shall be made at <br />least 60 days prior to the date of expiration of the license and shall contain such information as is <br />required by the city clerk.) I will put the renewal of LaRose's on a future agenda for approval. <br /> <br />Background checks are necessary for the renewals of on-sale, wine, and club licenses. Background checks <br />have also been done on 3.2 percent malt liquor as suggested by Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement <br />Division of the Department of Public Safety.
