<br /> <br />City of Elk River <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date <br />Consent A enda Ma 1, 2006 <br />Item Description <br />Case No. GP 06-05, Request by Furniture and Things for a <br />General Plannin Permit for a tent sale <br /> <br />Item Number <br />3.4 <br /> <br />Prepared by <br />Scott Harlicker, Senior Planner <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />Consider a request by Furniture and Things for a General Planning Permit to allow an outdoor sales tent <br />in their parking lot. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Furniture and Things is requests a General Planning Permit to locate a tent in their parking lot for <br />outdoor sales. The size of the tent is about 40' X 60'. It will be up from May 1 through September 1. <br /> <br />The proposed location is near the front entrance to the store and will displace about 8 parking spaces. <br />The location will not disrupt traffic flow nor does it create any parking problems. The garden center has <br />been in the same location in past years and there have not been any problems. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br /> <br />N/A <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />Location Map <br />Site Plan <br />Letter from Applicant <br /> <br />Action Requested <br /> <br />The City Council approve the request for a general planning permit to allow Furniture and Things to set <br />up a tent in their parking lot with the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. The tent and the area around the tent shall be maintained free of debris and kept in <br />an orderly condition. <br />2. No electrical services shall be across any drive or walking surface. <br />3.
