APRIL 2~th, 1972

Members present at meeting. Richard Gengell, A- Bailey, HilmEr
Bartelt, Les Derr, George Zabee, John MacGibbon and Dan Ba~ley.
All Bailey brought up the question of vacating Industrial Road
and Meadowvale Road in the area of theconcrete products co. This
would put all the meadowvale trafic on upland ave. Question
to be considered further.
THe Question of the size of the sign to be place on the new
First National Bank was given consideration.
Concerning the Sewer and the Township. Attorney MacGibbon
says that the Township will have to do business with the village
or stand on their own feet---that a sewer district cannot include
land in both the village and the township.
Question of future annexations agains discussed and the
Orderly Annexation Law, state:Chapt. 4l4.032, cited as the
proper way to approach the problem. The village is, apparently,
not concerned with enlarging its proplems but only with handeling
the problems that they already have.

TRIFFIC SITUATION: The closing of two crossings has put additional
pressure on the remaining two downtown crossing (Main and Jackson),
causing considerable stacking on the north side of the Jackson street
crossing. It also is causing a jam in the center lane of the East bound
trafic on U.8.10 from people trying to make left turns there. To
avoid this many drivers are going around the block and approa~hing the
traffic signal from the south. This is. causing traffic to stack up in
all the the downtown area.
Concerning another traffic light smmewhere.west of Jackson, the
Highway department has a rmle that traffic light's should be at least
2 block R~axX.appart.
It is estimated that traffic in the village will double in the
next ten years because of developments on the north side of the R.R.
Traffic counts must be run for a week at a time.
Suggestion that a left turn lane at proctor whould help.
Estimate that 150 buss crossing per school day--at proctor.
the School is running 40 busses now.
