lrLK RIVW--R V. ILLAGE Pl.AENI.. NC}. COMMI SS I 0.. Ii
Monday, Aug. 30, 297' '._

Harry Lakaduk and John Qliver AppearedFI with a proposed platof
GRA1'D VIEW ADDITIONS Covering Government Lot 5 of Sec. 5, Twp.
32, Rag. 26. 'rhe proposal included a. portion o:fthi~ government
Lot already ~old to Fred Ol~on, Who ha~agreed to join in the plato'
After con~idering the propo~al it was aaeepted by the Planning
Commi~sion with the provision that the street running along the
top of the bank in said addi tion be extended through the 'V'e~t line
of the plat to join up with the streets in Biverview Fir~t Addition.

The Final plat of ~owns Edge Court wa~ approved a~ pre~ented.

In coniidefing the plat of Grandview Additions, it was brought
out that_ the fv1ark Herd Filming that wa~ paid for by the Village
wa~ u.sed to make the topographic l,vout for the pla t. Since
no provision ha~ been made to reimbur~e the Village for the u~e
of the~e facilities, it wa~ ~ugge~ted that Mark Herd be contacted
to determine a reasonable fee to be returned to the village for
each tract for which the~e photo~ a..re used. The General Con~en~i~
~eemed to bethat $50.00 per propo~ed "plat would be proper.

In Con~idering the approval of the plat. of Towng Edge Court it
appeared that the lot~ were all to be sold to one developer who
is building houge~ to be ~old under the 2.3.5 program. It al~o
seem~ that the hou~e~ are as small and and cheaply con@tructed
as po~~ible and that thi~ 'type of hou~ing i~ not r3allyadaqu("rte
hou~.ng for even a small family~much le~s a family of 6 or 7.
It al~o appears thatahe builder va-is tobu.ild not ju~t one of
thi~ type of hou.~e, hereand there but complains that he is losing
money becau~e he could ~u'Pervise 50 hou~e~ at a time" This wi th
the rumor that he is intending to do ju~t thi~, make~ it look
like we have a ~Ystem that is going to set up a future slum area.
It was therefore decided, a~ a first step to insure better hou~ing
to Require that each hou~e hereafter constructed have a. garage on
the lot with the hou~e, and to further oonsiier an amendment to
our zoning to in~urethat peoPle that have to live in the less
de~i~able hou~ee at lea@t be allowed to have thoge house~ amontg
the type of neighbor that will be a good emmpleto them--=-=in
other words tou~e ~ome mean~e to limit the number and location
of low cost housing.
A zoneing change is therefore Reccommendedfor pas~ageby the
village council.
