<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER RECREATION BOARD <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br />SEPTEMBER 6, 1988 <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Mike O'Brien, Chair; Byron Houghtelin; Todd Mixer <br />Clete Lipetzky; Dave Anderson (7:30 p.m.); <br />Rolfe Anderson (7:30 p.m.); Marilyn VanPatten (7:45 p.m.) <br /> <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />OTHERS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Phil Hals, Street/Park Superintendent; Pat Klaers, <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br /> <br />Prior to the regularly scheduled 9/6/88 Recreation Board meeting at City Hall, <br />a tour was taken of various City neighborhood parks. Mike, Byron, Todd, <br />Clete, Phil, and Pat participated in this tour. The tour consisted of <br />visiting Ridgewood East Park, the Salk Athletic Area, Orono Park, Moldenhauer <br />Park, and Lion Park. During the tour, it was noted that: <br /> <br />1. The Ridgewood East Park is anticipated to have a one-half basketball <br />court installed along with a volleyball play area. The park currently <br />has playground equipment that was recently purchased and installed and <br />a sliding hill. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />The Salk Athletic area consists of mainly open fields for soccer <br />activity and is the location for youth baseball games. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Orono Park needs to have the softball field reseeded and a boat dock <br />will be installed in 1989. <br /> <br />4. Moldenhauer Park is currently being prepared for seed and future plans <br />call for the installation of playground equipment, a one-half <br />basketball court, and a volleyball area. <br /> <br />5. Lion's Park currently has a shelter under construction, plans for <br />skating rinks and plans for the completion of the sliding hill. <br /> <br />During the tour it was <br />installing signs for all <br />currently identified. <br /> <br />noted that the <br />of the various <br /> <br />Street Department is planning on <br />neighborhood parks that are not <br /> <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Pursuant <br />Recreation <br /> <br />to due <br />Board <br /> <br />call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River <br />was called to order by Chairman O'Brien at 7:25 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Consideration of 9/6/88 Recreation Board Agenda <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Recreation Board that the agenda was <br />acceptable as presented. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consideration of 8/2/88 Recreation Board Minutes <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER BYRON HOUGHTELIN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 8/2/88 RECREATION <br />BOARD MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. THE MOTION WAS SECONDED BY BOARD MlMBER <br />TODD MIXER. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />
