<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 06- 29 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING A VARIANCE FOR HIGHLAND ROAD <br />FROM MINNESOTA RULES 8820.9936 GEOMETRIC DESIGN <br />STANDARDS, URBAN; NEW OR RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Elk River has determined that Highland Road (Route 137) <br />should be reconstructed between Proctor Avenue and Jackson Road; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the existing road is constructed within the platted right-of-way and for a <br />curve east of the intersection with 192nd Avenue Northwest meets a design <br />speed standard of 25 mph; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Rules 8820.9936 Geometric Design Standards, Urban; New and <br />Reconstructed Projects establishes a minimum design speed standard of 30 <br />mph; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, reconstructing Highland Road to meet the design standard through the curve <br />in question would produce a hardship for the adjacent property owners: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Elk <br />River, Minnesota: <br /> <br />1.
