Informational meetings were held on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 with
residents in the area of the new 193rd Avenue corridor and on Wednesday, January 25,2006 with
residents in and around the area of the existing 193rd Avenue corridor. On Monday, March 20,
2006, I will briefly show the City Council the same presentation that was presented at these
informational meetings and be available to answer questions.

Financial Impact

As the City Council is aware, it appears that the City of Elk River will receive a Federal SAFTEA-
LV Grant for construction of the 193rd Avenue corridor in the amount of approximately
$950,000. (fhis will not be official until the Fall of 2006). This grant will be provided in fiscal
year 2009 or 2010. It is estimated that this grant will cover approximately 70 - 80% of the
construction of the roadway. The City will be responsible for the remaining 20 - 30% of the
roadway construction and any sanitary sewer or watermain that may be constructed with the
roadway. In addition, the City will be responsible for all land acquisition costs and all overhead
costs associated with Federal documentation, plan and specification preparation, and construction
administration.

Attachments

.
