______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> <br />TO: <br />ERMU Commission <br />FROM: <br />Chris Sumstad – Electric Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: <br />June 3, 2025 <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />6.1f <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Installed 21 new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary line <br />once the customer requests service. <br />• Joe Schmidt, safety instructor from MMUA, was here on May 28-29, doing field <br />evaluations and the annual safety training on pole top and bucket rescue. <br />• Crews continue to work on the overhead rebuild along Highway 169, north of the North <br />substation. <br />• The bore crew and one line crew are currently working in the industrial park in Elk River <br />off County Road 1. They are working on installing new primary wire for the additional <br />service at J&J Machine as well as replacing some older underground primary wire within <br />the park. <br />• Crews continue to work on the underground wire replacement in the Deerfield addition <br />in Elk River. <br />• Our two temporary lineworkers started May 13, and are in full swing helping our crews <br />as well as learning the skills of the trade. <br />• I am reviewing emergency preparedness plans from other utilities as we update and <br />broaden our own plan. <br />• Bradford Park housing development received asphalt recently and small utility <br />placement is scheduled for the first part of June.
