UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Chris Sumstad– Electric Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />March 11, 2025 6.1f <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Installed five new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary line <br />once the customer requests service. <br /> Joe Schmidt, safety instructor from Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA), <br />was here on February 26 and 27 and held safety meetings on hazardous energy control <br />and job hazard analysis. <br /> I attended the Emergecy Preparedness Conference hosted by MMUA, February 19-20, in <br />St. Cloud. <br />Finishedannual reviews with employeesthis past month. <br /> Good luck to Matt Schwartz, Alex Paschall, and Alex Bernier as they compete in the <br />American Public Power Association’s Lineworkers Rodeo on March 29 in Roseville, <br />California. <br /> We switched out the Waco substation this past Monday, March 3. Six feeders will be <br />backfed from alternate sources while Great River Energyperforms their needed work. <br />We will also be doing some substation maintenance of our own during this time. <br /> A vehicle exited Highway 169 near the landfill and destroyed an underground electrical <br />junction box on Saturday, March 1. This caused an outage for four customers. <br />Jay Reading, job training and safetyInstructor from MMUA, was here on February 24 <br />and went over digger derrick training. This was the first of three trainings on digger <br />derricks he will present in 2025. <br />The bore crew is currently working on installing approximately 1600 feet of three phase <br />primary for another service to Jonny Pops located near Business Center Drive. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />149 <br /> <br />
