The issue of
liability is a complicating matter which needs to be
resolved. The only Community Education programs that
are presently receiving Recreation Board support are the
Handke Ice Rink, Tiny Tots, Open Swimming, and the
Senior Citizens (bus).

Community Education's policy is that youth programs can
use school facilities free, but adult programs must
pay. Due to the current school district financial
problem, the fees will probably be increased in the
future. The Community Education program hopes to have
one summer intern for recreational activities for the
1981 summer. The Recreation Board members indicated
they would welcome the opportunity to work with the
intern if the position is filled.

It appears that the Recreation Board and Community
Education programs do share some of the same objectives
and therefore, the need for coordination and cooperation
is obvious. The Board budget year does not follow the
Community Education year. This situation causes some
problems in estimating budgets. However, good communication
should resolve any potential problems.

III Previous meeting's minutes were read and approved.
IV Treasurer's report was read and approved.

The following were approved for payment:

A A bill for $1,080 from the Gymnastics Progra~.
However, it needs to be determined if a prevlous
payment of $130 should be subtracted from this
amount. The final payment would ,be charged to the
Gymnastics account, not the Board budget.
