<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />ELK RIVER PARK BOARD <br />CITY HALL <br /> <br />September 29, 1976 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Gene Schuldt, Stan Moreland, Ken Nelson. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Bob Westerlund, Jim Bredeck. <br /> <br />GUESTS: John Dietz, Elk River Softball Association, Eric Erickson, Jaycees. <br /> <br />SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION: Will be selling fifty-five signs at $80.00 for first year <br />and $50.00 for each succeeding year. Committments to date for 40-45 signs. There will <br />be fifty-six large posts needed for mounting the signs and fifty-five posts for sign support <br />Park Board will try to help fund the cost. Lions Club donated $380.00 for field improvement <br />from their tournament. New limer is needed for ball fields. Park Board may help share cost <br /> <br />HALLOWEEN HAUNTED HOUSE: Jaycees requested use of Orono Park shelter for a haunted house <br />during October 28th, 29th and 30th. Permission granted. <br /> <br />PARK SHELTER SLAB: Jaycees proposed concrete slab for floor of park shelter. Tentative <br />costs are as follows: wood framing $100.00, reinforcing rod $70.00, concrete $624.50, for <br />a total of $794.50. Park Board will pay for costs up to $800.00. <br /> <br />1977 BUDGET: Budget for 1977 was reviewed. Items of increase and decrease were discussed. <br />Need for permanent toilet facilities was pointed out. Satellite rental is increasing <br />each year and it maybe more economical in the long run to build new facility. New <br />facility would have to include holding tank. Blue print of facility built by Highway <br />department in Babcock Park is on file in City Hall. <br /> <br />1976 PARK IMPROVEMENTS; '. Ken Nelson wil direct his efforts toward resurfacing back wall of <br />bleachers at Fairgrounds Softball Field. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM. <br />
