<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />ELK RIVER PARK BOARD <br />September 19, 1974 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Gene Schuldt, Don Strei, Gene Scribner, Jim Bredeck, Bob Westerlund, <br /> <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: None. <br /> <br />GUESTS: Elaine Rholf ,Dave Holgren. <br /> <br />Buying Ice time was under consideration and debate. The lack of knowing insurance costs <br />was a big hinderance. <br />Ice Arena Bldg. 220' X 110', Ice Rink 192' X 87i'. <br />Al Froehlich needed the size of the bldg. and amount of occupancy. <br /> <br />Gene Scribner moved that we take Xmas vacation & Presidents Day option if the total cost <br />wouldn't be more than $1,100.00 for Ice time and Insurance. Bob Westerlund seconded ;Lt. <br />Motion carried Al Froehlich will call. <br /> <br />Shirley Matchinskywill go see Father petermyer about the group wishing to take over the <br />Sinor Citizens group to plan bus tours and outings. <br /> <br />Recovery of Athletic equipment: <br />Elaine Rohlf has all girls softball. <br />Bob Westerlund has archery equipment. <br /> <br />Gene Scribner will check with Eve Dillion & Nick Olson. Shirley Matchinsky will get ahold of <br />Kathy Ahreni & Wally Fox. <br /> <br />Elaine Rohlf submitted a report on the girls softball. <br /> <br />The tennis was thought to have turned out fine. <br /> <br />Mrs. Inman called the insurance covered 26 weeks after injury. No policy was set up. <br />Insurance only paid $8.00, Mrs. Inman had to pay $10.00. Mrs Inman was disappointed in the <br />insurance. <br /> <br />Don Strei gave a report on Ski areas. Benson Hill would be an excellent ski slope. Don <br />recommened cleaning out some brush and advertising for skiing on certain days. <br />Gene Schuldt suggested looking up a committee to look into the matter of developing some <br />ski areas. Went to see the Ridgewood slopes they haven't been used for a while, a committee <br />is working on that. No outsiders wanted. <br /> <br />Bills to be paid: <br />Nick Olson <br />Cobbler Shop <br />Shirley Matchinsky <br /> <br />$3.84 <br />$106.00 <br />$8.02 <br /> <br />approved <br />approved <br />approved <br /> <br />Ball park utilities bill: Motion made to table it till next. meeting and Bob Westerlund <br />will get a hold of the officials for the next. meeting. Slow pitch & fast pitch teams. <br /> <br />Meeting night chariged to 2nd Tuesday nites at 7:00 PM. October 8th next. meeting. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />
