<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ELK RIVER PARK BOARD <br />August 6, 1974 <br /> <br />Mr~ERS PRESENT: Chairman Gene Schuldt, Jim Bredeck. <br /> <br />MEHBERS ABSENT: Bob Westerlund. <br /> <br />GUESTS: Ken Nelson. <br /> <br />Ken Nelson reported that the two softball parks especially the main ball park, were <br />badly littered following the tournaments on August 3rd & 4th. Jim Bredeck went to the site <br />on Monday morning. He reported that the trash was "unbelieveable". Ken Nelson also reported <br />that the rest tooms at the main ball park are filthy and virtually 'U.1l'Us.~b.J:e. The same holds <br />tw."e for Orono Park restrooms. The entire structure at the main ball park is falling apart <br />and should be torn down. <br /> <br />Park Board agreed to pay Elk River Jaycees $78.00 reimbursement for lifeguard expenses on <br />the 4th of July. At the March 21, 1974 meeting the Park Board agreed to back up the Jaycees <br />in this cost if profit was not realized to cover it. The Jaycees reported to Gene Schuldt that <br />expenses for the July 4th celebration were greater than income. <br /> <br />Ken Nelson is going to check on cost of agricultural lime for resurfacing the infields of <br />both ball fields. Work is tentativelY scheduled for Oetober. <br /> <br />Items to bi included in 1975 budget are as follows: Resuscitator $420.00 and transitorized <br />megaphone $95.00. Both items, needed for the public beach and both items would be used by <br />the Elk River Police Dept. during the off-seasons. <br /> <br />Jirl Bredeck suggested that light bulbs now o1!order for ball fields be stored until next <br />year since this ball season is nearly over.
