<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />ELK RIVER JOINT PARK BOARD MEETING <br />HELD IN THE CITY OFFICE BUILDING <br /> <br />May 1, 1974 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Les Derr, Shirley Matuseski, Will Daniels, Gene Schuldt, <br />Gene Scribner. <br /> <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Don Strei. <br /> <br />GUESTS: Dick Hales, Paula Anderson, <br /> <br />Gene Scribner gave his report on what he had done. Lakeshore Association is going to run <br />the canoeing. Ron Burley in charge. Possibility of extra Life Jackets needed. <br /> <br />Janis Klein has offered to work with Mrs. Higdon for dancing lessons. A piano player is <br />needed. Acrobatic, Tap, & Ballet all together. <br /> <br />Wa-s' ma-hin Archery Club will run the archery program. Approximately $200.00 needed. <br /> <br />Paula Anderson chairman in charge of bus tours has been contacting different places for the <br />tours. <br /> <br />Judy Persing is going to have the story hour. <br /> <br />Eve Dillon will be in charge of tennis. Interested in adults as well as younger people. <br /> <br />Adrian Barnier is willing to be in charge for registration. The old fire hall next to the <br />Library has been suggested for a place of registration. Les Derr will contact same and on <br />the use of this. <br /> <br />Will Daniels will check out summer theaters. <br /> <br />Paula Anderson called the Dicksin Bus Lines, they do a charter service. Over 66 passengers <br />$25.00, smaller $22.00 - 66 passengers 45f/l a mile thats up to 4 hours driving, over that <br />$3.25 an hour + 45f/l . Need 2 or 3 days notice. Suggested: do not segregate mentally retarded. <br /> <br />Metropoliton Stadium was contacted for different routes. Chaperons will be needed. <br /> <br />Minneapolis Public Library Planetarium was contacted, need advance reservation, Charge of <br />50f/l a person. <br /> <br />Paula Anderson will write up an ad on bus tours and set up dates. <br /> <br />Dick Hales will come up with a cost for equipment for Little League after registration. <br /> <br />Babe Ruth League is shaping up better than last year. <br /> <br />Al Froehlich will check with his company on the Insurance for Babe Ruth League. <br /> <br />Next meeting will be May 23, 1974 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Gene Scribner moved to adjourn, Wil Daniels seconded.
