<br /> <br />City of Elk River <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date <br />En ineerin Febru 21,2006 <br />Item Description <br />Adopt a Resolution Approving the Plans and Specifications and <br />Ordering the Advertisement for Bids in the Matter of the School <br />Street/High School Parking Lot Signalization Improvement <br />Pro' ect <br /> <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />On September 19, 2005 the City Council adopted Resolution 05-113, Authorizing the Preparation of <br />Plans and Specifications for the School Street/High School Parking Lot Signalization Improvement. <br />These plans have now been completed. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Since the inception of this proposed project, it has been anticipated that the School District would share <br />in half of the cost of the construction. Preliminary discussions have been held with School District <br />officials in the past regarding this concept. In order to get a firm cost with which to get a formal <br />agreement with the School District, it will be necessary to bid the project. Therefore, the City Council is <br />being requested to authorize adoption of a resolution approving the plans and specifications and ordering <br />the advertisement for bids.
