Meeting of the Beautification and Public <br />Art Committee <br />Held at the Elk River City Hall <br />ciryof Monday, September 16, 2024 <br />Elk` <br />River <br />Members Present: Committee Member Melissa McAlpine, Councilmember Jennifer Wagner, <br />Committee Member Ryan Hardin, Committee Member Nic Hahn, Commissioner <br />Dan Tveite <br />Members Absent: Committee Member Deb Hjermstad <br />Staff Present: Economic Development Specialist Josh Mollan, and Senior Planner Chris <br />Leeseberg <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting was called to order at 3:37 PM by Jennifer. <br />2. CONSIDER AGENDA <br />Moved by Dan and seconded by Jennifer to approve the agenda. Motion Carried 5-0. <br />CONSIDER MINUTES <br />3.1 July 15, 2024 Meeting Minutes <br />Moved by Ryan and seconded by Melissa to approve the July 15, 2024, Meeting Minutes. <br />Motion 4-0. Dan abstained. <br />4. GENERAL BUSINESS <br />4.1 Public Art <br />Josh gave an update on Carey Dean's project. <br />Josh shared that Deb wanted to share a presentation on the Junior Master Gardeners project. <br />Josh shared that a video highlighting the public art in the community has been published. <br />Josh advised that the Central Minnesota Arts Board public art grant deadline has been set for April 2, <br />2025. Moreover, he asked the committee what they would like to see for an upcoming project. <br />Ryan brought up hosting a chalk art event, or some other community event. <br />Nic suggested looking at local screen printer, Brian Geihl. <br />Jennifer suggested looking at local artist, Adam Turman. <br />
