An 18-
acre parcel (Malmstrom) on CR 77 would become the long needed, eastern gateway into Woodland Trails
Park. A 13-acre parcel owned by the Elk River Country Club is for sale. The Country Club Board
approved a motion that expressed their preference to see it preserved rather than developed. This parcel
borders the Great Northern Trail and its addition to the park would retain this wooded buffer.

Financial Impact
Proposed Budget
$150,000 Metro Greenways Grant
$175,000 Scenic and Natural Areas Grant
$175,000 Remediation Grant
$200.000 Park Dedication Funds
$700,000 Total

Attachments
Location maps

Action Requested
Authorize staff to apply for a Metro Greenways Grant

Council Action

Motion by _

Second by _

Vote

Follow Up

C\Documents and Settings\tallard\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLKF\Authorize Grant Application (2).doc
