The FT Center should creatively
adapt the meeting room space into a casual restaurant atmosphere for greater utilization during facility rentals such
as youth sporting events, tradeshows, etc.

The meeting room has been an under-utilized rental space. Rentals rarely overlap with other available rental spaces
at the FT Center and the space would still be available for rent during non-catered events.

The FT Center can leverage marketing materials, fixtures, and furniture through various partnership opportunities
and sponsorships to renovate the space at a near zero expense.

A similar concept exists at Fogerty Ice Arena in Blaine, MN named “Moe's at The Ice House.” Their traditional
“Applebee’s like” restaurant features a bar and grill attached to an ice arena that hosts numerous youth
tournaments, high school sporting contests, junior hockey, and curling events.

Financial Impact
None.

Mission/Policy/Goal
Meet changing needs – Agile.

Attachments
 Moe’s at The Ice House – Blaine, MN Comparison

The Elk River Vision
A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional

service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity.
Updated: January 2023
