PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Village of <br />ELK RIVER, MINNESOTA <br />RICHARD GONGOLL <br />Chairman <br />Phone 441-2200 <br />To the VIllage Council <br />Village of Elk River, <br />Elk River, Minn. <br />Sirs, <br />DANIEL BAILEY <br />Secretary <br />Phone 441-3271 <br />At the request of the plan-1-iing commission of the VIllage of Elk River, a <br />Hearing was held on Wednesday, March 29th, 1972 at 7:30 at the Village <br />Hall to consider a change in the 'oning Ordinance, to change Subdivision <br />13 of Section 7, pertaining to the density of Mobile homes in Autorized <br />Mobile Home Parks. <br />Published notice was made in the Sherburne COunty Star News on March <br />16-23 and a copy of the published notice was sent to Earl Hohlen as owner <br />of the Authorized Mobile Home Park. <br />At the Hearing no one appeared for or against the proposed Zoning Change. <br />However it was brought out that : <br />1. That -6 or 7 units per acre tend to put trailer houses so close <br />togather that there is fire risk. <br />2. That the larger lot size requirement would give more play area for <br />children in the family units. <br />3. That 5 units per gross acre is the Minimum property standard for <br />FHA and VA. <br />It was Moved, Seconded and Passed (A quarum being present) that Subdivision <br />l,c under said Subdivision 13 which now reads "There shall be permitted a <br />maximum of Seven (7) units per gorss acre" be changed to read "There shall <br />be permitted a maximum of five (5) unites per gross acre." <br />This change in the Zoning regulations is herewith subbmitted to the Village <br />Council of the Village of Elk River, for its consideration and possible <br />implementation. <br />Sincerely, , <br />Secretary, Village-Plauning Commissioi <br />
