<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 28, 1918 <br /> <br />A Special Meeting of the Village Council was held on Thursday evening Marc 28, 1918 at the Office <br />of C.F. Fiman Pres <br /> <br />Present – C.F. Fiman, Pres, F.M. Plank, E.E. Scott, E.J. Keegan Trustees, W.F. Chadbourne Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Pres at 8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />The official bond of W.F. Chadbourne elected clerk was presented and on motion accepted and <br />ordered filed. <br /> <br />The following resolution was presented to Council. <br /> <br />Resolved that the salary of Village Clerk for the year 1918 be fixed at the sum of $75.00. <br /> <br />On motion of F.M. Plank Trustee seconded by E.J. Keegan, Trustee, the motion was declared <br />carried by the Pres. <br /> <br />On motion the following persons were elected to serve as Board of Health for present year Geo E <br />Page, M.D. Chairman <br />R.E. Dare Clerk <br /> <br />In regard to license of Geo H. Blauchett to sell intoxicating liquors said license having been given <br />rd <br />for one year on April 3, 1917 and at the Village Election held Mar 12, 1918 the majority of the <br />rd <br />citizens voted against license and said Geo H Blauchett having paid in full to April 3, 1918 – the <br />Council found that said Geo H Blauchett was entitled to a refund of $132.76. A motion was made <br />seconded and declared carried that the Clerk issue a warrant for the sum of 132.76 to said Geo H <br />Blauchett. <br /> <br />In the matter of securing a right of way to change Main Street between the Chadbourne crossing <br />and the Felch Crossing to the South side of Railroad Right of way thus avoiding two dangerous <br />crossings a motion was made seconded and declared carried that C.F. Fiman and W.F. Chadbourne <br />be instructed to look the matter up and report as soon as possible. <br /> <br />In regard to cost of Ice Breaker built to protect Pier on Miss. River at Bridge No. 668 it was decided <br />that the Village Council confer with the Co. Commissioners of Wright Co in regard to their helping <br />to pay for same. C.F. Fiman Pres was instructed to communicate with Co. Auditor of Wright Co in <br />regard to same. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed <br />Eureka Fire Hose Co 250 ft hose purchased Oct 8, 1917 187.50 <br />Elk River Power and Light Co repairs on St. Lights 13.50 <br />W.F. Chadbourne Vill Clerk election ex st signs 24.95 <br />Minn. State Fire Dept Assn annual dues 2.00 <br />H. Shannon Co flag for park 19.69 <br /> <br />
