Results from
the analysis report presented to City Council on June 5 included a shortage of dedicated fields and an overuse of
existing fields. The next step was the master planning process.

The master planning process started in June 2023 for OKAC, DAAC and PT Complex with a project advisory
committee formed including Dave Williams, Mike Brown, and Ryan Holmgren. Dave Williams was replaced by
Greg Loidolt in December 2023.

The last meeting of the advisory committee was on December 13 to review the latest concept drafts of the athletic
facilities. The plan incorporated highlights from premier facilities including Schwan’s Regional Amateur Sports
Complex in Marshall, Riverside Park Ballfield in Springfield, Johnson Ballpark in New Ulm, Caswell Complex in
Noth Mankato and Gleason Fields in Maple Grove that staff visited in October.

Financial Impact
Cost estimates for the master plan updates will be presented at the meeting.

Mission/Policy/Goal
Opportunity to live, work and play

Attachments
Athletic Facilities Master Plans
