<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 24, 1915 <br /> <br />A Special meeting of Village Council was held at the office of C.F. Fiman on Saturday July 24, 1915. <br /> <br />Present – C.F. Fiman, Pres, E.E. Scott and F.M. Plank Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne Clerk <br /> <br />The first object of this meeting was to dispose of the matter of vacating Cedar Street in Village of <br />Orono or upper town. On motion duly made seconded and carried the following resolution was <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Resolution <br />Whereas there was heretofore presented to the Council the petition of F.D. Waterman, et al, the <br />owners of all the land and property abutting upon and adjoining the street hereinafter described, <br />praying for the vacation of that part of Cedar Street described as follows <br /> <br />All that part of Cedar Street as shown on the original plat or map of Orono lying north and westerly <br />of a straight line drawn from the southeasterly corner of lot 5 in Block 5 of the town plat of Orono <br />as the same appears of record in the office of the Register of Deeds in and for Sherburne County, <br />Minnesota to the southerly corner of Block (6) of Auditors Addition to Elk River according to the <br />plat thereof of record in the office of the Register of Deeds aforesaid, which said petition is duly <br />verified, as provided by law, and sets forth the facts and reasons for said vacation, and whereas, said <br />council deemed it expedient that the matter therein referred to should be proceeded with, and <br />ordered said petition to be filed of record in the office of the village Clerk of said Village and <br />ordered said Village Clerk to give published and posted notice in the manner and for the time <br />required by law that said Petition and the subject matter thereof would be heard and considered by <br />th <br />the Council at a meeting to be held in the Bank of Elk River in said Village on the 24 day of July <br />1915 at 8 o’clock P.M. which said notice was duly published and given, and <br />Whereas, said Council did meet at the said last named time and place above named and appointed <br />therefor, and did then and there hear all testimony and evidence addressed on the part of said <br />petitions, and all other persons interested in the matter of said proposed vacation and did take proof <br />of the matter in said petition, and being of the opinion that the prayer of said <br />petition should be granted, and it appearing for the interest of the public so to do <br /> <br />Now therefore, it is hereby <br />Resolved by the council of the Village of Elk River, Minnesota that <br />All that part of Cedar Street as shown on the original plat or map of Orono lying north and westerly <br />of a straight line drawn from the southeasterly corner of Lot 5 in Block 5 of the town plat of Orono <br />as the same appears of record in the office of the Register of Deeds in and for Sherburne County <br />Minnesota, to the southerly corner of Block (6) of Auditors Addition in the office of the Register of <br />Deeds aforesaid be and shall hereby is vacated and discontinued as a public street.
