<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 31, 1916 <br /> <br />A Special meeting of Village Council was held at the Bank of Elk River on Friday March 31, 1916. <br /> <br />Present – F.M. Plank, E.J. Keegan, F.M. Plank and E.E. Scott Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne, <br />Clerk. <br /> <br />T.J. Walter Village Marshal presented his resignation on motion duly made and carried his <br />resignation accepted. <br /> <br />C.W. Guptil having applied for Office of Village Marshal and agreeing to perform duties of said <br />office for the sum of 50.00 per month was on motion duly appointed Marshal. <br /> <br />The following resolution was presented and on motion duly made and carried was accepted. <br /> <br />Resolved that the Village Clerk be instructed to draw orders at the end of each month to pay salary <br />of Village Marshal and also to pay for electric lights for Village without further delay until such <br />notice as Village Council may give him. <br /> <br />C.F. Fiman and F.M. Plank were appointed com. To purchase lights for band stand and also light in <br />ally back of stores. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and allowed. <br /> <br />Sherburne Co Star News printing financial statement 1915-16 82.50 <br />Notice of Liquor license 4.40 <br />86.90 <br /> <br />C.F. Fiman cash paid for expense .42 <br />C.F. Fiman Fredrickson street cleaning 1.60 <br />Roy Wallace auditing books 3.00 <br />5.02 <br />Minn State Fire Dept Assn dues 2.00 <br />7.02 <br /> <br />No further business adjourned. <br />W.F.
