<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />May 9, 1917 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of Village Council was held at the Office of C.F. Fiman Pres on Wednesday <br />evening May 9, 1917 <br /> <br />Present – C.F. Fiman, Pres, F.M. Plank Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Pres at 8:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Visitors Andrew Davis, M.K. Iliff and L.K. Houlton praying that the council proceed to build <br />sidewalk on south side of Main St from McKevins store to Andrew Davis home as petition for same <br />had been presented and acted upon favorably in 1915. The council agreed to proceed at once and <br />build said walk. <br /> <br />On motion of F.M. Plank Trustee seconded by W.F. Chadbourne Clerk and declared carried by the <br />President it was resolved that this Village join the League of Minn. Municipalities and that the Clerk <br />forward 10.00 for dues for 1917. <br /> <br />A communication was rec’d from F.D. Waterman Pres of the Elk River Power and Light Co in <br />regard to bill of damages to bridge resulting from water flowing over said Watermans Dam. Asking <br />for more definite particulars in regard to cost. E.E. Scott Trustee being absent no action was taken <br />E.E. Scott Trustee having had charge of repairs on Bridge. <br /> <br />Mr. Frank Ebner having offered 35.00 for old junk from engine house and under Miss Bridges on <br />motion Frank Ebner proposition was accepted. The following bills were presented and on motion <br />allowed. <br /> <br />E.R. Garage 5.00 <br />Geo E Page 20.00 <br />C.F. Fiman 19.58 <br />E.R.
