<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 12, 1917 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of Village Council was held at the Office of C.F. Fiman Pres on Thursday April <br />12, 1917 <br /> <br />Present – C.F. Fiman, Pres, E.E. Scott and F.M. Plank Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Pres at 8:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion duly made seconded and declared carried. The <br />Clerk was ordered to draw orders for their respective amts. <br /> <br />F.W. Nickerson 73 ½ cu. yds gravel used on street 7.35 <br />Minn Steel and Machinery Co flag pole 60.00 <br />E.R. Garage rent engine house March 1917 5.00 <br />E.R.P and Light Co fixtures 1.80 <br />E.R. Lumber Co lumber for Ice break 164.67 <br />Henry Bargabos snow plow on street 4.50 <br />E.L. Clark 5.00 <br />Bank of E.R. Tel. .50 <br />F.M. Plank salt for clearing sidewalk .90 <br /> <br />Moved and carried that the Village Council appropriate 50.00 for Band concerts in Park during <br />summer to be paid 5.00 each concert until 50.00 is paid. <br /> <br />In the matter of repairing abutment of Bridge over the Elk River damaged by water from E.R. <br />Power and Light Co dam in the Spring of 1916 after some discussion in regard to subject the Village <br />Clerk on motion made by F.M. Plank Trustee seconded by E.E. Scott Trustee and declared carried <br />unanimously by C.F. Fiman Pres was instructed to forward to F.D. Waterman Pres of the E.R. <br />Power and Light Co a detailed statement of actual cost of repairs on above mentioned abutment and <br />inasmuch as the bulk of above expense was expended on South abutment directly damaged by cause <br />of dam above that the said E.R. Power and Light Co is requested and expected to pay at least on <br />half of cost named in actual cost account to be sent Co. by Village Clerk. <br /> <br />No further business adjourned. <br />W.F.
