<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 14, 1914 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A Regular meeting of Village Council was held at the Office of C.F. Firman on Wednesday evening <br />Oct 14, 1914. <br /> <br />Present – C.F. Firman, Pres, E.E. Scott, F.M. Plank and E.J. Keegan Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Two representatives of Tri-Sate Tel Co present also Harry Thorpe manager of N.W. Tel Co. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order at 8:30 P.M. by Pres. <br /> <br />In the matter of granting a franchise to Tri-State Tel Co to establish a pay station in this Village <br />which had previously laid on the table. A motion was made to grant said request. Roll call by Clerk. <br />Ayes E.J. Keegan and W.F. Chadbourne. Noes C.F. Firman, E.E. Scott and F.M. Plank <br />Motion declared lost. <br /> <br />Motion made seconded and carried that the Council erect a cheap temporary building for fire engine <br />on Drug Store. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed. <br /> <br />Indian Refining Co gasoline 29.70 <br />Patterson St Highway Co 22.50 <br />W.L. Babcock Sons Co 68.06 <br />Geo Martineau 5.30 <br />JE Hamlet 12.50 <br />B.L. Hall City Weighmaster 90.00 <br />E.J. Keegan 2.50 <br />F.M. Plank 1.40 <br />W.F. Chadbourne 5.00 <br />Paul Davis Treas. E.R. Band 30.00 <br />C.F. Firman cash paid ex .59 <br /> <br />B.L. Hall city scales make his report showing he that he had collected 340.80 with voucher showing <br />that he had delivered same to Village Treas on motion report accepted and ordered filed. <br /> <br />No further business adjourned. <br /> <br />W.F.
